My plan

I have made a goal not to spend money for groceries unless it's milk, fruit, or absolutely necessary. With David's temporary unemployment and unforeseen car repairs our money is stretched pretty thin.

My goal is to spend less than $100 per month on groceries for the next several months. This past week, I've only spent $6 and that was for milk. (I do have morning moos in storage, but I have to afford myself a little bit of luxury here!) Here's to living off our food storage and our garden! I'll keep you posted on whether or not I can do this.

Wow, if you can do this, you will be my hero! Seriously, that is pretty amazing that you already spend as little as you do. Good luck, I hope you can have lots of success!

Wow, $100 a month. That's amazing. I was just at the grocery store this morning and I kept thinking that there is no way that we could do $100 a month. But, then again, we don't have the amazing food storage that you do. . . and I don't know how to be quite as frugal as you. Wow. You are incredible.

We have used quite a bit of our food storage off and on over the last few years when times have been tight. We even started mixing our powdered milk with milk we bought at the store and everyone still liked it and it helped us through some rough months. (Now when do I get to re-build our food storage?) It wasn't bad that way at all (half and half). I also learned that the flour we have in cans stored doesn't taste so good in recipes after having had it for only 5-6 yrs...Anyway...good luck-keep us posted. :)
