There is a new fascination in our house and it's called "MANCALA."

It is a game that was introduced to me by David's parents while we were dating. Over the years, we've played it off and on because it's such a fast game. In the last week or two, I started to teach Ethan how to play. It is not a brain-buster and is quite easy to pick up. But, I am so distraught that he can now beat me; and does most of the time. How is that possible? How is it that a four year old can see several moves ahead and plan for them and I can't? I do have to admit, though, I do find an immense amount of pleasure when I can actually win. As I have gotten to the rip 'ol age of 32, I have realized that I am no longer a faster runner than my children, can no longer beat them at all the games we play, and I have to watch how they play games to steal their moves in order to beat them the next time. So sad, I know.
