Because of the change of our school track at school, the kids only get this week off as their summer vacation. We decided to take our first trip to the beach as a family.
Wednesday: Planned on leaving early, but decided to take the kids to see Charlotte's web. I totally cried. We got to Wrightsville beach around 4pm and stayed until 7:30. I haven't been in the ocean in 10 years and missed having someone out in the waves with me. My mom and I were the ones that did this together while I was growing up. David stayed on the shore to watch the kids while I bobbed in the waves for about 1/2 hour then we switched. Here are some pictures of our first day.

This is Ethan in protest of staying at the beach longer. I guess he thought this would hurt us more than it did him.
Thursday:
We went to see the USS North Carolina. It was so hot, but so much fun. We were there for over 3 hours seeing the ends and outs of a battleship. We only lost Evan 4times. I would turn to read something and he would just disappear. One time he went below deck where it was chained off.
This is the only photo taken of me on our vacation. Just had to prove I was there too.
After we left the Battleship we headed out to see Fort Fisher.
This was the best we could to in getting all the kids to cooperate.
Of all the historical infomation I tried to give the kids about Fort Fisher, this was the most intrigueing thing for them; the fiddler crabs.
After we left there, we went to Kure beach for another couple of hours.
This was my favorite of our trip.

Looks like fun. Glad that you got one picture of you. Every once in awhile I make sure to have someone take a picture of me with the kids because when they look back on picture albums I think that they'll wonder, "Where was my mom during all this?" since I'm always the photog. :)
That looks like so much fun! We are excited to see you in a month!
Mom was so lucky to have you to go in the ocean with her. I hate the beach.
You guys are such good parents. I don't think I've ever seen kids in those life vests at the beach!
