On my Soapbox

Just a warning: I'm going to rant a little, okay a lot, about our health insurance.

I just got our new cards in the mail yesterday and they raised all of our co pays! Not only do I already pay a whopping $680 per month for insurance but now I will have to pay $25 for routine visits and $50 for specialists. (I have talked with David about just dropping this insurance and trying to find something else.) If you can believe it, this policy I'm talking about doesn't even include David. He gets his covered by his work.

I hate the health care system as it is. And I hate what Obama is trying to do to it. Yes, I would like to have my premiums reduced (drastically), but universal health care is not the way to go! I don't want to have to wait a couple of years for the two surgeries I need; especially since they are not considered life threatening.

I won't get too political because people seem to play nice on their blogs, but I do have very strong opinions in this area. I am disgusted at the high cost of health care. I am disgusted that I have to pay for the high costs because others don't carry it. I'm disgusted that uninsured people can use the ER as their primary care and don't have to pay their own bills. I am sicked that insurance companies have such power and control over my health care already and their way of deterring me from using the policy I have is to raise my costs even further.

I could go on and on, but I won't. I will step off my soapbox for now and take a couple of deep breaths.

In . . . . Out . . . In . . . Out . . .
