I am trying to keep my shopping to $25/ week so I can do the $100/ month. Last week was a cinch. In total I spent $13 = $87 remaining.
I am hesitant to write all the meals I eat with the money I spend because I am apprehensive of negative feedback or someone saying I'm doing a disservice to my children. I still feed them, and my husband, balanced, nutritional meals but just use a creative method in having the food last longer. That being said, I still want everyone to know that you can eat well on a small budget, especially when supplemented with your food storage. So, for now, I will post some of the dinners made throughout the week.
This past week we ate: pork chops, leftovers, poppy seed chicken, tacos, pizza (free from David's work)and spaghetti (for 10 people).
For breakfast, I have always made breads, cinnamon rolls, muffins, pancakes, etc. These are economical and so much better than store bought products.
I went shopping this morning with David (this is again one of his unpaid weeks off) and I was just giddy with the things I got for the amount I spent. I will go over the totals next week, but I will give you a preview and let you know I left Harris Teeter with spending $1.30 and saving $56! I am off to a great start!

I can't even comprehend spending less than 2 dollars at the grocery store. You astound me.
Hoy cow! That trip to Harris Teeter is amazing! You are my hero. We spent $170 for groceries for the first two weeks this month! We really need to learn how to save like you do!
Impressive! I have wondered how low I could get it. Here is an interesting blog for you. This woman spends $800 a year. That was not a typo. http://jane4girls800dollarannualbudget.blogspot.com/
