I FINALLY did it!!

I finally managed to keep a secret from David without giving it away!! David turned 34 on the 9th and I wanted to do something fun for him. We don't buy each other gifts for any other holiday so I wanted this to be good! I called my mom at the beginning of March and she agreed to come down to watch the children so we could leave for a couple of days. I was so giddy with excitement as each part of the trip panned out. I managed to count down the days without giving anything away. I spent HOURS on the computer trying to figure out where to go and what to do. I settled on Williamsburg and finally just got the hotel room from Priceline (I named my own price!) I contacted David's office manager and told her my plans and got him approved for his birthday off. The next day was good Friday and he had that off already. Last Sunday before his birthday, I started giving him little poems that would lead him to different gifts. He got one each day, just to throw him off. I made his requested dinner on Wednesday and told him we had plans for his birthday night.

On top of all this, I had to get everything planned for my mom. I had an agenda for things to do with the kids, including maps, money, etc. I was patting myself on the back for all my organization. : D

Wednesday night my mom and sister arrived around 10:30, as we are going to sleep, I asked David to wake me up when his alarm went off at 5:40am so I could wish him a happy birthday. When his alarm went off,

I said,"You're not going to work today."

David: "I'm not?"

Me: "nope, go back to sleep."

David: "Do I need to call out?"

Me: "No, I already took care of that."

David: "what's going on? What are we doing?"

Me: " We're going away for the weekend. That's why mom Mom's here."

David: "That's so awesome. Okay, I'm going back to sleep."

We got a call to show the house as I was trying to get the kids off with my mom to an activity and pack (since I couldn't do that ahead of time).

We had SO MUCH FUN! I didn't want to choose everything to do so I let David decide. We went to Busch Gardens when we arrived on Thursday. Jamestown on Friday until 2 and then went to Busch Gardens again. On Saturday we shopped the outlets and got home around 7pm. I love being alone with David, because quite honestly, he cracks me up and dealing with all the kids, it kinda hard to get the humor in! Here are some pictures of our trip.

I love you David. I hope you had a great birthday! xoxo!

That's awesome! I am horrible at keeping secrets from my hubby too-maybe I'll try this sometime-although don't think we will go to Williamsburg-a little too far away for us...anyway!!! Glad you guys got away and had fun! And Happy Bday Dave!
