I was meaning to post this on Saturday night, but as you can see I wasn't successful.
Saturday morning Rylee was in the Wake Forest Parade with her girl scout troop. We all went to endure the cold. On the way there Ethan says nonchalantly,
"I lost a tooth today."
David and I both spin around from the front seat and just pepper him with questions. "What? When? Where is it?" He said he didn't know but he was just sitting back there and realized it was gone. It was pretty funny how little it affected him. Although, he was happily anticipating his first visit from the tooth fairy. This was the best picture I could get of him.
Rylee did great in her parade. I had no problems hearing her sing.
For the past two months, during any spare time, David has been working on building a new Kitchen table for us. He finally finished and put it in on Saturday. It is beautiful.
Then, today, a mightly blow.
I was cutting snowflakes with the kids in the play room. Ethan wanted to color his so he went downstairs and came back up to show me his beautiful black snowflake. I thought nothing of it until David was setting the table for dinner. That is when the black marks on the table were discovered. Ethan readily admitted he had put them there while coloring. But this just wasn't any black mark. He was using a sharpie. I thought David was going to BLOW! (This man has amazing self control, no yelling or spanking. Just a good talking to.) He has spent hours and hours and hours getting this table done. He tried water, and goo gone but it wouldn't come off. He called his dad (who does wood work as well) and has a couple of options to fix it. We have told Ethan on many occassions he is forbidden from using Sharpies, and somehow he always gets ahold of them. I'm upset my beautiful table top is now not quite so beautiful but glad he told the truth. I'm also extremely grateful my husband has the skills to fix it.
