Camping. . . AGAIN!

Two weekends again we were supposed to go to the beach. We usually stay with a friend who lives in Wilmington, but because of a death in their family, we couldn't go. So, David and I spend the morning canning peaches. We were able to finish off our 60 pounds and ended up with 38 quarts for the season. Since it was Stake Conference weekend and we don't go to church for it (don't judge!), and we couldn't go to the beach, we decided to go camping.

I'm an not exaggerating when I say that it was an eventful trip. Within an hour of us arriving we had two peeing and one poop in the pants incidents. For real people? You know how old my kids are, right? Two of the kids dumped soda over their food, but I didn't care. We were outside and I DIDN'T HAVE TO CLEAN UP!! David was ready to leave. We decided to stick it out because our kids LOVE to camp. We went down to the park, even though it was dark. We lit our lantern and shortly after, it burnt out. David was going to switch the propane, but ended up with second degree burns on his hand. After we got treatment for his hand, we toasted marshmallows, played UNO and went to sleep.

Don't ask me what David is doing to me here!

This is what was covering our site. We were the only ones there in a tent. Everyone else apparently stays for the summer in their campers. We won't be going back to this lake.

For me, the fun of playing UNO with the kids made any other madness completely worth it. I had such a good time and the kids are getting old enough to have a little "fun" with. We may just possibly be going camping again next weekend. We'll see.

Naw, I don't judge. We never go to Stake Conference, either. I've been to one session since I was 17!

I love that your little girl is wearing pink sandals, a skirt, and a fur-trimmed jacket for a camping trip. Fancy!
