I thought I was being a kind, nice mother by getting tickets to a "children production" of the Nutcracker put on by the North Carolina Ballet. Paige decided she didn't want to go since she spent the night at a friend's house. So, I took the three other children, against my better judgement to see the production. I wanted to go because A) it was free, B) it would give us something to do and C) I have never seen it and thought it would be good to expose my children to something different. I was reminded of a previously learned lesson, DON'T TAKE YOUR KIDS TO PUBLIC PLACES WITHOUT ANOTHER ADULT. Also, I shouldn't take my children to big auditoriums that go dark and only provide ballet and music as the source for their entertainment. Every time a song would stop, Ethan would yell, "Is it done now?" Evan would yell, "I'm hungry." and Rylee just couldn't sit still. I could go on and on about the dramatics of the morning, but, I won't. I do want to say I walked out with a strong desire to go see the full production. I loved the music and I thought the NC Ballet did an amazing job. I will definately buy tickets for next year for David and I and we'll leave the kids at home!
