Without giving details (please don't ask), this has been, without a doubt, the hardest year of my life. (That is, of course, besides 7th grade when some chick wanted to fight me because I was friends with her boyfriend.) I have had 3 major life altering "issues" arise that I never could've prepared for. I want to thank those of you who have been there as I shed my tears and who have been understanding as I've gone AWOL on church activities I used to count down the minutes to attend. Since I have spent many days just down in the dumps I have learned that the one way to help get out of a funk is to think of the things that make me happy. Here's a portion of the list I wrote in my journal.

1. My children and husband
2. My Savior/gospel/atonement/temple/scriptures
3. Reading
4. Couponing, Saving money
5. Yoga! (I couldn't have survived without you!)
6. thunderstorms and the way it smells before they arrive. Sitting on my porch swing enjoying them with my family.
7. Laughter
8. hugs
9. sleeping
10. playing the piano
11. dancing to anything
12. hearing my children sing Carrie Underwood "some hearts".
13. baking and the smells it brings
14. Service
15. taking walks
16. snuggling and watching movies with David
17. the beautiful weather we're having
18. going to the beach and jumping in the waves
19. hearing the noises of the summer nights i.e., bugs, frogs, etc.
20. having time alone
21. camp fires
22. talking to my sisters (mine and david's)
23. nature/sunsets/waterfalls/oceans, etc.
24. homemade bread and jam
25. knowing that I'm never alone!

So nice to focus on the wonderful things sometimes. I need to make me a list like that! I LOVE the pictures of the kids faces. I laughed because I've had that happen, too. I have pictures of Dade and Corben wearing the same outfit and standing in the same pose almost 5 years apart. It's funny how our kids just can't hide their roots!!
