Growing Too Quickly

Ethan and Rylee are my early risers. They like to pick to their own clothes in the morning. I would love for them to put the outfits together like I intended them to be, but its not a battle worth fighting in my eyes. There are things that are non-negotiable like hair and teeth brushing so I'll let the weird clothes pass. But the one thing I have to voice my opinion on is when they outgrow their clothes. Oh how Paige and Ethan want to hold on to them and not pass them on to Rylee and Evan. They will wear shirts that are too tight and too short and pants that they can no longer button just because this article of clothing is and always will be theirs. I buy Ethan and Paige new clothes and suggest that for every item bought, they need to choose one to pass down. My logic worked on them until about a week ago. I had bought Ethan a couple of pairs of jeans because he was outgrowing his other pairs. When I saw him this morning in the pants I had JUST bought, I told him they were too short and needed to be passed on. He told me,"They're not too short. They're perfect!"

I add this picture as evidence to the contrary! They are all just growing so quickly. I try to hug and squeeze them as often as I can just trying to remember every positive moment, even when short jeans are involved.

Clint and I were just looking at Preston's jeans and having the same feelings :)

I hear ya! You must've LOVED Nathan's pants today in church! It wasn't until he was walking into our house AFTER church that I noticed how short his pants were! Guess I need to be more on top of that!
